Buying from Used Truck Dealers: Guide to Maintaining Diesel Engines

If you want to buy a hardworking new truck from dealers in Oregon’s largest city but you don’t exactly have the funds nor the patience to deal with buying a brand new one, going pre-owned could be the path for you. You should know though, that owning any used vehicle from reputable Portland truck dealers requires some responsibilities, especially when it comes to maintaining the engine. Here are some tips that you should know if you’re choosing a diesel engine: Inspect the Plugs First, you should inspect the glow plugs, one of the main components that cause the diesel engine to ignite when there is insufficient compressed heat in the engine’s cylinder. Test your glow plugs by removing them and attaching them to a battery charger using electrical clamps. Discard and replace plugs that do not heat up.
